THE WAY WE WORK

The way we work with Wellbeing & Life Skills in our community

Wellbeing motivates and inspires all our courses and projects; transferable life skills are embedded in each programme alongside learning new skills, forming new friendship groups, being signposted to other free activities; personal development plans ensure tailored support led by friendly experienced youth and health key workers.

We work with young people from under-represented groups not in education, employment or training ages 18 to 26+, Youth Offending Teams and young people in the Youth Justice System. We run programmes with mental health service users and GP referrals, housing associations including supported living residents, elders and intergenerational groups, young carers.

Community Connect Crafts

Within our community wellbeing programme we can facilitate design and make and business enterprise workshops Learn2Make2£arn and Makers2Market. These have proved popular with all ages and abilities. Several participants have made this their full time occupation working in Covent Garden and Spitalfields Market!
We also open our doors on request to local residents of all ages and abilities for free collaborative wellbeing projects in mosaic, ceramics and textiles.

Since our inception in 2008 we have delighted in giving local children and young people a wide range of free creative activities during their school breaks. These have been funded by Lambeth Council and the Getting Involved Grant delivered through our nearby Tenant Management Organizations – The China Walk TMO, The Ethelred Estate TMO, the Vauxhall Gardens Estate VGERTA.

We have also recently put up a community mural at Isledon Village. In 2019, we ran a series of summer mural workshops in North London, bringing lots of local residents together to paint a community mural.
